Generative AI literacy

All generative AI tools are based on data. This data could be websites, photographs, paintings, music or even personal information. 

There is a lot of concern about the copyright of this training material.

The use of creative works such as artwork, music, and writing to train generative AI raises questions of intellectual property, ownership, and privacy. 

For example, if generative AI is used to replicate the unique style of a human creator:

• Does this constitute an infringement of their intellectual property? 
• Who is the creator of the outputs of generative AI? The person inputting the prompts, the AI developers, the people whose work the AI was trained on, or the AI tool itself?

Currently, no one really has answers to these questions. Instead of using AI tools to generate images and other media, you may wish to use creative commons media that can be reused with proper attribution.
